Details Cajun Supermarket has teamed with the BBB and Scan Alert to offer greater website protection to its customers

ScanAlert offers an online computer-vulnerability security service to help companies check their web sites, servers and online-connected machinery for problems that could lead to data losses, identity theft or credit card fraud. Their basic service helps companies comply with the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). These standards were adopted by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and DiscoverCard for all merchants that accept credit cards, and made effective in 2005. ScanAlert currently provides web site security services to over 100,000 web sites.

A second piece of the partnership involves joint use of the BBBOnLine's Reliability seal and ScanAlert's HACKER SAFE seal. Currently, over 70,000 merchants are certified by the HACKER SAFE seal. The HACKER SAFE seal goes well beyond denoting encryption of data in transmission from the consumer to the web site, as many "security" marks do, to checking for a broad set of vulnerabilities on the company’s web site and server. Sites that pass the daily security check are sent the HACKER SAFE seal to display on the site.

We encourage you to check out the ScanAlert PCI compliance service, consider the HACKER SAFE seal, and to read the following article for more information on why data security is so important to your business.
